WA’s business community is hoping Basil Zempilas’s larger-than-life persona will translate into strong leadership for Perth’s CBD, particularly focusing on growth and support for local traders.

The high-profile media personality was voted in as Lord Mayor of the City of Perth on Saturday night, edging out former journalist Di Bain in a tightly fought contest for the City’s top job.
