A Fremantle-style marketplace, a farmer’s market, and an Indigenous or pop culture museum are among the ideas being discussed for the failed market hall at Yagan Square.

Industry players have begun the autopsy on what killed the venue, and have turned discussion towards how to best use the space to activate the city.

The State Government has opened an expressions of interest campaign for a new operation at market hall, after commissioning $305,000 in reconfiguration works.
